Crary® Bear Cat® engineers and manufactures the strongest lineup of towableChippers right here in the USA. With a wide range of models, there is sure to be one that fits your needs. On top of this is a best–in–class warranty.
This 6″ capacity commercial chipper is hydraulically fed and features a distinctive 6.5 x 13 inch wide feed opening to accommodate larger brush and tree trimmings. It is powered by an electric start, 627cc Briggs & Stratton Vanguard® engine for reliable starting, more horsepower, reduced fuel consumption and long life.
The CH6627H also features a unique cantilever mounted rotor. This “propeller” style mounting design allows a user to chip wet or stringy wood types with less tendency of product twist or wrap.
The chippers’ hydraulic feed system is electronically controlled. If the rotor speed drops below optimal operational RPM range, the controller pauses the feed roller to allow the rotor to regain speed, and then restarts feeding once optimal rotor RPM is achieved. This AutoFeed function allows for less fatigue on wear parts and maximizes efficiency.
The CH6627H’s 165 lb. rotor comes equipped with four reversible, heat-treated steel chipper blades. The four-sided striking anvil is adjustable, allowing for the blades to maintain a sharper cutting edge longer and reduce repairs and blade replacement costs.
The CH6627H is a great fit for tree and landscape service operators as well as the perfect mid-size chipper for municipalities and rental companies.
How difficult is it to perform maintenance on the machine?
Crary® Bear Cat® products are designed with ease of maintenance in mind. Proper maintenance is vital and should be performed routinely with blades, belts and bearings being most important.
How long will the chipper blades last?
Depending on the type of wood, age and cleanliness, chipper blades will work well for between 5-15 hours. Dry, dirty wood will dull the blades faster. Alternate dry and wet material to extend blade life. Hydraulic feed machines will have longer blade life.
What are these Chippers designed for?
The Crary®Bear Cat®Chipper is designed to effectively reduce the volume of wood, branches, and other organic material. The typical application for this product group is anywhere from light to commercial to municipalities, and/ or rental.
What is the maximum size of material will these machines chip?
A Crary® Bear Cat®9” Chipper will chip up to 9“ diameter material.
What type of Chippers are available?
Crary® Bear Cat® makes Chippers with gravity or hydraulic feed, powered by an engine package or a tractor PTO. A hydraulic feed machine has a hydraulic driven feed roller to efficiently feed branches to the chipper disc.
When should I buy a gravity feed machine?
If you have an infrequent need for a Chipper and time is not a factor, a gravity feed machine will fit your needs.
When should I buy a hydraulic feed machine?
If time or efficiency is an issue, a hydraulic feed Chipper allows you to be more productive.
When should I chip?
If you don’t plan on composting the material, material is green and stringy or larger than 3/4″ in diameter.
